Cutimed® Sorbact® has been proven successfully as a non-medicated, antimicrobial dressing for colonised and infected wounds. Cutimed® Sorbact® Swab is intended for use in the management of clean, contaminated, colonized or infected exudating wounds, such as surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, pressure injuries, diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers. Cutimed® Sorbact® utilizes a physical mode of action versus a chemical mode of action. The hydrophobic interaction safely removes bacteria without cell death or negatively impacting the healing process. Other antimicrobial dressings on the market utilize alternative antimicrobials to kill bacteria or fungi, leaving behind bacterial cell debris and endotoxins.
